DVD Workshops:

QUESTION: What are the differences between Profiting with Japanese Candlestick Charts (DVD-1) and Secrets to Becoming a Samurai Trader (DVD-2)?

ANSWER: On a knowledge scale from 1 to 10, DVD-1 takes you from a level 1 to a level 6, and DVD-2 will take you from a level 6 to a level 10. On DVD-2 there are more examples on trading and risk/reward scenarios. Almost all of the material that is on DVD-2 is not available anywhere else (not even in Steve's books). On DVD-2 there is a special section on intraday trading.  Although most of the chart examples in both DVDs are daily stocks, all of the techniques revealed can be used on indices, futures, forex and intraday charts.

QUESTION: What are the differences between Steve's DVDs and the 7 DVD set with Steve and Ken Calhoun?

ANSWER: The 7 DVD set Traders' Secrets is geared toward equity traders only. For Steve’s portion, about 75% of the material on Profiting with Japanese Candlestick Charts is on the 7 DVD set, and segments from his intraday portion from Secrets to Becoming a Samurai Trader workshop is part of the 7 DVD set. QUESTION: Your DVD will not play in my computer. What should I do?

ANSWER: The workshops are DVDs and will not play in a CD-rom drive. If you do not have a DVD drive on your pc, you must use a DVD player.

QUESTION: Where can I find the charts which are supposed to accompany the DVD workshops?

ANSWER: The instructions to download the charts for both DVD workshops can be found on the invoice which came with your DVD workshop(s).

QUESTION: I ordered the 7 DVD Workshop with Steve and Ken Calhoun. Can I get a free copy of The Candlestick Course?

ANSWER: No, the 7 DVD workshop is not sold through Candlecharts.com and therefore The Candlestick Course is not offered with the workshop.

QUESTION: Is the 7 DVD Workshop with Steve and Ken Calhoun applicable to FX trading?

ANSWER: No, it is only applicable to intraday equity trading.

ANSWER: Yes, in The Candlestick Course, page 70, Question 8, the answer is b, not c as indicated in the answer section.
Page 78, Question 15: Should read: Ideally, it closes above the center of the prior black candle.
Page 84, Evening Star Exhibit. The first candle of the pattern should be white and the third candle of pattern should be black, the opposite of what is shown.
In Japanese Candlestick Charting Techniques, page 229. The first sentence of Computing the Moving Average Oscillator should read: This indicator is obtained by subtracting the longer-term moving average from the shorter-term moving average.
The respective publishers of these books are aware of the misprints and they will be corrected in future editions.

QUESTION: What can I get from a live seminar that I cannot get from your DVDs?

ANSWER:

1) As we say, DVDs never improve. We are always refining and improving the live seminars based on feedback.

2) There is nothing like interaction from the audience where we learn not only from Steve but from each participant's experiences.

3) At the end of the second day of the seminar, Steve will do forecasts on the markets of your choice.

4) The live seminar is much more fun. And, Steve uses visual material that helps make concepts more concrete. These visuals are not on the DVDs

5) Seminars include much more practice and hands-on analysis with interactive charts and also include "test" and "refine your knowledge" charts.

ANSWER: Orders are typically shipped within 24 hours, excluding weekends.

QUESTION: I placed an order and live outside the continental US. How long will it take for me to receive my order?

ANSWER: Most orders outside the continental US are shipped via US Postal Service Global Express Mail and usually take 4-7 business days to get to your post office. It is then up to your country's post office to deliver it. Because of this, we cannot give an exact length of time for delivery. However, most arrive within a few weeks of being sent. All overseas orders are shipped on Friday.

ANSWER: Yes, as long as you have an open, high, low and close for the time period you are charting, you can use candlestick charts.

ANSWER: Yes, candlestick charts and options are such a good fit that Steve has done joint seminars with the leading option educators like Larry McMillan and Price Headley. The candles will give the potential turning areas and then the options trader will need to look at option strategies, volatility, etc. to decide how to trade the position with options. QUESTION: Can I use candlestick charts in mutual fund analysis?

ANSWER: Not for daily analysis because a daily close (NAV) is the only data available. There must be an open, high, low and close to use a candlestick chart. We have heard of using weekly mutual fund data to construct a candlestick chart.

QUESTION: Do candlesticks work on tick charts?

ANSWER: No, since an open, high, low and close is needed to construct a candlestick chart. However, as detailed in Steve's DVD workshops, candlestick charts can be on 1 minute charts.
